Prezzee Hiring for Financial Accountant Job at Sydney Full Time

We are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join our fast growing team. Reporting to the Head of Finance AU, this role is accountable for maintaining our Company’s financial health and profitability. As the Financial Accountant you will play a key role deploying initiatives focused on the execution of the Company strategy. You will also supervise core financial tasks across the business and ensure we use capital and resources beneficially to deliver the Prezzee vision to be the universal gift card globally.

We create leading digital gift solutions for consumers, businesses and 800+ brand partners across the world. Founded in 2014 to address the age-old problem of losing or forgetting gift cards, and to make them more planet-friendly, Prezzee has evolved from a two person Australian start-up to a global business with a 300+ team and operations in North America, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. What you will do at Prezzee: *

• Support the financial control and accounting function for the Group.

• Assist with the month -end process and reconciliations.

• Cash flow maintenance, analysis and forecasts.

• Assist with the consolidation of the group accounts, preparation and presentation of reporting materials to the Board.

• Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory financial reports, including working with our external auditors.

• Drive improvements in reporting, controls and adherence to group policies.

• Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information.

• Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.

• Ad-hoc project work as required.

• Have a sense of urgency and genuinely see Prezzee maintaining its market leadership and position of first mover advantage.

On the technical side, you have: *

• Experience as an accountant in a service focused environment is ideal, but not essential – it’s about what you can bring to the role, your career story and aspirations.

• Ideally having had some experience in a fast growth or fin-tech company (or both). High level payments experience would be an additional bonus.

• In-depth understanding of AASB/IFRS standards and financial accounting procedures.

• Hands-on experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close processes and financial statements preparation.

• Good presentation and reporting skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software.

• Solid analytical and decision-making skills.

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.

• Relevant certification (e.g. CA/CPA) is a plus (could be studying it now).
