Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager reports to the President & CEO and is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and bookkeeping for the Chamber and Chamber Foundation. This includes following proper accounting principles, as well as developing and maintaining rigorous practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position involves occasional weekend, evening and holiday work attending Chamber events.

Essential Job Functions:

• Applies a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure to the financial records of the Chamber and Chamber Foundation.
• Develops and maintains rigorous accounting practices and procedures while working on the Chamber’s and Chamber Foundation’s accounts receivables, payments, and financial records.
• Processes accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end profit and loss statements and reports.
• Assists in daily banking tasks and requirements.
• Accurately & processes payroll for the Chamber employees in a timely, confidential and efficient manner.
• Capably supports budget and forecasting activities for managers of the Chamber’s departments, as well as for the President & CEO.
• Accurately and timely processes and oversees positive pay transactions.
• Monitors and analyzes workflow to increase efficiency in procedures for accounting and finance-related transactions.
• Professionally advises Chamber staff regarding the handling of non-routing reporting transactions.
• Effectively communicates with financial institutions, and respectfully follows up on delinquent account receivables.
• Capably supervises the general ledger and ensures that all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Designs and implements new office policies and procedures to promote efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Cooperatively works with the Chamber’s CPA to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
• Supports the President & CEO with special projects, workflow process improvements and supporting overall Chamber goals and objectives.
• Works cooperatively with all Chamber team members, eagerly providing assistance when needed.
• Provides a personable and friendly greeting and smile to everyone who enters the Chamber’s office and visitor center.
• Arrives to work on time every day as scheduled, unless otherwise authorized for time off or on job-protected leave.

Additional Job Functions:

• Provides training to new and existing staff as needed, exemplifying the positive Chamber culture.
• Attends Chamber events, arriving well in advance, to assist in ensuring that each event runs smoothly and as planned.

· Serves on Chamber committees as designated by the President & CEO.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• BA/BS in Business is required.
• Accounting major is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience working with financial reporting/general ledgers is required.
• Ten-key by touch is required.
• Extensive experience working with QuickBooks software is required.
• Experience working in a professional services firm is preferred.
• Chamber experience and knowledge is preferred.

Part-time hours: 29 per week

Pay: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour
