Premier Kosher Inc. Hiring for Quality Assurance Shipper/Receiver at Caistor Centre, ON Full Time

Premier Kosher is a family owned poultry processing plant located in Casitor Centre. We are looking for hard working and energetic people to join our team!

Hands-on Food Safety and Quality focused shipper/receiver to be responsible for all aspects of Shipping and Receiving. The successful candidate will be fully responsible for the accurate execution and fulfillment of shipping duties and not just monitoring the process. This is an ideal opportunity of a candidate that wish to apply their QA background into operations.

Job Duties

· Proper Identification and weighing of product to meet traceability and weights and measure regulatory requirements.

· Operate and train others on scale set up and proper weighing procedures.

· Understanding the difference between Kosher vs Non Kosher products and identify and store accordingly

· Manage inventory with

o Daily inventory counts for both meat products and raw materials (i.e. packaging)

o Work closely with Supervisor to ensure inventory is at safe levels at all times

o Accurately account for all inventory by Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock

o Stage orders and use first in/first out methodology

o Monitoring shelf life and reacting to ageing product

· Ensure customer requirements and specification are met.

o Accurate build of orders based on shipping schedule

o Strap and store boxed poultry products that are ready for delivery to customers

o Accurately weigh and label products as per customer specifications

· Load and unload trailers in a safe manner

· Organize production area in a safe and efficient manner

· Ensure work area is cleaned and sanitized

· Identify and correct any safety and quality concerns promptly.

· Work with QA technicians to ensure compliance to CCPs and the food safety program.

· Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times

• Other tasks and duties to be assigned as needed

Experience and Training

· Quality/Science related tertiary education

· Operating a lift truck and/or walkie preferred

· WHMIS and Electrical training will be provided

· 1 – 2 years experience

· Prior experience in shipping and receiving is an asset

· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment an asset

· Strong sense of time organization and urgency

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Receiving, stocking, and stacking.

· Pulling, packing, and loading.

· Attention to detail and accurate documentation and record keeping

Working Conditions

· Able to lift/handle up to 23kg/50lbs

· Cold work environment – Majority of the day in refrigerated environment (4 – 10 °C)

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Handle Poultry (raw meat)

· Demanding timelines

· Busy and hectic work environment

Must come prepared with safety shoes and warm clothing, including cotton gloves.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
