PowerTrain, Inc. – Instructional Designer

PowerTrain is seeking an instructional designer who will develop web-based learning, knowledge management, and human capital solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for government contracts. Create engaging, behaviorally based training materials across a variety delivery methods and a range of development technologies including ILT, vILT, WBT, AI, AR-VR, webcasts, micro-learning, mobile, social media, video and various authoring tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team of subcontractors and the internal design team consisting of programmers, multimedia artists and testers. Duties may include writing proposals, creating project plans, communicating directly with the client, and tracking project deliverables/deadlines.

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience creating reports, design plans, and storyboards
• Proficient using PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent command of the English language
• Excellent work habits with an ability to work independently, sometimes under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong abilities to work with a multi-discipline team
• Enthusiasm for learning innovative technologies and techniques
• Comfortable interacting and working administratively with clients
• Experience with accessibility and 508 compliance

Required Qualifications

• Certificate or Master’s degree in Instructional Design or Technical/Professional Writing.
• Two or more years of instructional design experience.
• Prior experience with at least one of the following authoring tools: SmartBuilder, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate or Lectora
• Additional coursework or experience in media design or learning media
• Must be a US citizen or have work authorization to obtain a security clearance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $73,000.00 per year
