Fixed term position (12 months) –up to 48 hours per fortnight

Portland District Health currently has a position available for a Clinical Lead Postgraduate Education. In this role you will oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of Postgraduate education programs and employment pathways at Portland District Health.

Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders on the development of training positions aligned with Portland District Health strategic objectives and community need.

The successful applicant will:

• Postgraduate qualification in Education and relevant Clinical speciality
• Demonstrated ability to take a leadership role in both strategic and daily operational issues
• You will have highly developed interpersonal skills as well as sound communication skills both verbal and written.
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in a supported work environment

Who we are

Portland District Health provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital, established in 1856 on the current site, provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

• Acute general medical and surgical care, midwifery, emergency, oncology, dialysis, subacute care, sleep studies, palliative care plus a range of specialist surgical services delivered by visiting surgeons.
• Emergency care, provided from the Urgent Care Centre with an onsite emergency helipad to facilitate rapid transfer when needed.
• Residential aged care program for 30 residents of Harbour Side Lodge.
• An extensive range of primary and community services for the local community, this includes: Health Independence Program, Rehabilitation, Community Palliative Care, District Nursing, Allied Health, Visiting Specialist services, Medical Imaging, Pharmacy, Counselling, and Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment services.

Portland District Health delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an EFT of approximately 290, and has additional 113 community members in an active volunteer workforce.
