About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Roster Clerk within our Residential Care administration team on a full-time basis. Working at our Nelson Bay facility, you will be responsible for roster management of our care staff, including Domestic Home Care employees, Personal Care Assistants and Registered Nurses.

We are seeking someone who is solutions focused, creative, able to ‘think outside the box’ and adaptable to the ever-changing environment.

About You

You will have the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team of people, while being able to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously. You must be self-motivated and organised with the ability to juggle tasks and conflicting priorities. A high level of problem-solving skills is crucial to the success of the role, as is a solution’s focused attitude.

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in roster preparation for 100+ staff with rotating shifts is preferred
• Knowledge and experience with scheduling software and workforce planning (EmpLive) desired
• Strong administrative and coordination skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills
• A reliable and trustworthy approach to your role and your employer
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Previous experience in interpreting health and aged care awards, contained in Enterprise Agreements (EA) is ideal

Key Duties of the Role

• Development of rosters for full-time, part-time and relief staff
• Filling vacant shifts in a timely and effective manner
• Coordination of ‘buddy shifts’ for new and existing employees
• Providing information and support to managers and staff relating to rosters
• Participation in special projects related to the rostering system
• Maintaining master rosters in the electronic rostering system (EmpLive)
• Liaising with the Payroll Department and Managers in regard to staff rosters and associated
• Working in accordance with the PSVCAC Enterprise Agreement (EA) and the ability to interpret relevant clauses
