Porsche Cars Canada Hiring for PEC Toronto Operations Manager at Toronto, ON Full Time

Tasks

Position Objective:

The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating with the management team of the PEC to develop and set the strategic direction and curriculums of both products and services offered and ensuring that a flawless execution of said programs is delivered. This role is also tasked with supporting the Manager, PEC Toronto to look at the overall business strategically to identify future growth and revenue opportunities in order to expand the PEC to new audiences and segments. It is the responsibility of this positon to manage the operating vendor(s) supporting the business to ensure all Porsche brand standards are being delivered and operations are being efficiently run.

This position will support in the establishment of an organizational structure with clear roles & responsibilities, well defined processes, and good cross departmental coordination and communication that is aligned with the Porsche excite values. The main business generator of the PEC is the drive experience and therefore the largest operational focus for the position. Other functions of the position include successful management and oversight of the Food & Beverage operations, , New Vehicle Delivery program, logistics team, detail operations, simulated and virtual driving, /track operations and as well as other day-to-day operational business integrations with partners and sponsors.

The Operations Manager is a strategic leader able to work closely with the Manager, PEC Toronto to steer the PEC operations and profitability, while implementing its vision, mission and long-term goals, ensuring the PEC is constantly moving towards fulfilling the short term and long-term objectives. This position is also responsible for supporting the building of an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching. A successful Manager is constantly seeking for creative ways to grow the overall business, improve the customer experience and ensure that all programs deliver Porsche Passion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive Team:

    • Continuous development and implementation of an ongoing evaluation, grading, quality assessment, certification and training concept to grow the instructor team and maintain a Porsche appropriate standard service level
    • Ongoing development and implementation of the overall safety and emergency standards for the PEC
    • Responsible for the driving curriculum, constantly striving to innovate and create new driving programs to generate new sources of revenue.
  • Logistics Team:

    • Develop and ensure training of the logistics team on Porsche product knowledge and job duties
    • Ensure safe and responsible-minded operation of the PEC car fleet by
      • ongoing qualification and certification of safe vehicle operation
      • ongoing yearly training on vehicle detailing Porsche level standards
    • Ensure all compliance and liability targets are met and documentation completed, in accordance to the defined logistics process document
  • Detailing Team:

    • Develop and implement strategies, guidelines, processes and training for car detailing and maintenance, to Porsche standards
    • Guarantee necessary resources and infrastructure is in place to fulfill the demand
    • Responsible for implementing measures and processes for a lean operation and sustainable budget control to track performed services while meeting defined KPIs
  • Simulator Lab:

    • Responsible for establishing a smooth, sustainable liaison between different vendors
    • Responsible to further develop equipment and content to adapt to a changing technological environment (i.e. VR)
    • Innovate and develop new program offers to drive growing revenue
    • Liaise with PAG to guarantee that relevant software updates are available and implemented on time
    • Explore opportunities within eSports and eGaming
  • Workshop:

    • Work with Workshop team for developing and implementing processes and guidelines to guarantee:
      • fleet operation at any time;
      • safe operation of fleet in line with our corporate compliance and liability;
      • availability of necessary equipment for workshop operation;
        • Workshop operations should be in line with PEC KPI Targets for workshop efficiency / # of vehicles out of service / zero vehicle fault messages in front of customers
        • Ensure workshop documentation and efficiency via the dealer management system
        • Ensure parts inventory is in line with our PEC vehicle usage and retirement schedule
        • Ensure that all OHSA requirements are met and adhered to for safety and compliance
        • Assist the Workshop team to account for an efficient operation of vehicle validation and retirement
  • New Vehicle Delivery (NVD)

    • Development, implementation and management of New Vehicle Delivery (NVD) processes and budget
    • Oversight of NVD processes and communication structure with PCL Sales Operations and customers
      • Work with NVD team on ways to improve a unique customer experience that exceeds expectations
  • Food & Beverage (F&B)

    • Direct oversight of all F&B operations (Café, Catering etc) and long-term business strategy
    • Working with the Agency Partner to develop KPIs, financial forecasting, budget management, staffing & operational strategies
    • Ensure quality standards are being met and upholding reputational management performance
    • Ensure the operating partner is abiding by all food service operational measures and maintaining proper certifications and licenses
    • Work to best integrate F&B services into all business opportunities to maximize potential

Primary Responsibilities:

Prior to PEC opening:

  • Lead the RFP processes for onboarding all operational vendors for the PEC Toronto
  • Establish all Standard Operating Procedures for PEC Toronto
  • Lead the GRC process and review

Once PEC is open

  • Management of PEC Operations budget
  • Ensure that the PEC Operational team (internal and agency/vendor staff) is trained to follow Standard Operating Procedures and Porsche Brand Standards. Pro-actively identify training opportunities and share expertise.
  • Work cohesively with vendor partners to align on hiring, performance appraisals, development, discipline, etc.
  • Strategic management of relevant PEC suppliers and agencies to ensure that Porsche operating and procurement guidelines are followed
  • Work in tandem with Sales and Special Event Specialist for bespoke event development to include proposals and quotes, while ensuring that the operating requirements are met from drive team
  • Coordination with PCL Finance on payments and invoicing
  • Production of weekly and monthly reports for internal PEC meetings and PCL management
  • Management of specific partnerships as it relates to track operations
  • Evaluation of business case and identification of new business opportunities for further development as part of Strategy 2030 goals
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure PEC success and growth

Core Accountabilities:

  • Ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of the PEC Operations Manual including processes and guidelines for all teams and agencies for operational readiness as well as auditing, legal and compliance reasons
  • Continuous development, implementation and review of safety and emergency guidelines / processes to ensure safety standards
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated to the PEC team and followed at all times
  • Sign off on event team proposals and contracts before communication to externals
  • Establish, implement and further develop the PEC program portfolio in line with customer needs
  • Work with Manager, PEC Toronto to align on customer and corporate pricing structure, packages and concepts, including detailed competitor evaluation to ensure competitiveness of content and pricing
  • Set clear and measurable performance goals for all operational teams based on but not limited to the PEC goals
  • Coordinate track maintenance and constant operational readiness with venue Facility Manager/teams
  • Responsible for the PEC fleet, ordering, maintenance and disposal in coordination with PCL Sales Operations and Drive Team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising or equivalent.

Experience (Job and Industry):

  • Minimum 5 years sales and marketing overall experience (automotive or similar, dealer-based experience an advantage)
  • Experience event planning and operations, automotive event experience an advantage
  • Experience delivering premium customer experiences
