The Software Developer is primarily responsible for performing software application development and designing and implementing efficient, cost-effective application solutions. Additional responsibilities include solving complex technical challenges and collaborating with others on project deliveries. PolySystems is based in Chicago. The position is temporarily remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, cost-effective software application solutions.
• Develop solutions to complex technical challenges while coding, unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and documenting the systems you develop.
• Collaborate with other developers, testers, and actuarial production staff on code reviews and process enhancements to deliver complex projects.
• Optimize application performance through analysis, code refactoring, and system tuning.
• Ensure your design meets architecture standards and that the resulting system will be flexible, easily maintainable, high performing, and integrates well with other related systems/components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with C, C++, or C# programming skills.
• Experience using Visual Studio is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Software development knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize.
• Debugging ability.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
