Pay – starting at $19-20 with potential to earn up to $21 within the first year

Summary

Set up and operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and area supplies. Also, assist Area Leader in the overall cell operation.

Job Duties

• Assist the Area Leader in maintaining supplies in the cell by anticipating needed stock and requesting it prior to need.
• Set up CNC by downloading appropriate files and checking for correct tooling, offset locations and loading spoil boards.
• Cut material per product “cut sheet” prints, inspect for defects and place on CNC.
• Verifies settings by visually checking and assembling first-run parts; adhering to company standards and levels of quality. Assist cell workers to fully “test assemble” the first completed set of parts for the next product being produced after every change-over.
• Maintains specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing daily inspection sheets, maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions and contacts the Area Leader for maintenance repairs when necessary. Inspecting cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and making sure everything is ready for the next shift.
• Documents actions by completing production log.

• Experience with operating a CNC, any type, is preferred but not required
• Must have experience with running a chop saw preferably in a production setting, working with milling/woodwork is a plus!
