Pocono Rentals & Management Hiring for at Blakeslee, PA Full Time

Howdy – We’re Pocono Rentals & Management! And I’m Dave, the owner. We’re a full-service short-term rental home management business – that was a mouthful… in other words, we manage Airbnb’s in the Poconos!

We We Do:

Our clients are homeowners who have vacation homes in the Poconos and want to make money renting it out while they’re not staying there. We manage their homes for them by making them the MOST money they can (optimizing listings, dynamic pricing, other industry jargon words) all while taking the work off their hands. Said another way, twe take all the work off their hands and they make money! And then we make a percentage of what they make as a “management fee”. Everyone wins, it’s pretty great!

We’re growing quick, and this would be a great opportunity to get in with a young(ish), profitable company that is on the up-and-up! We’re independently owned and operated – started by managing our own personal home back in 2019 and now manage over 75 homes. This year we’re on pace to process over $5.5million in rentals and have ambitious growth plans for 2023 (hence why we’re hiring!).

We were able to accomplish all this without having an office… until now! We are in the process of opening out first office space in Blakeslee Plaza (corner unit next to Ahart’s) and looking for a team member to manage the office and help with new-home onboarding. Which leads me to…

What We Need:

We’re looking for someone local who can wear a few hats and help run the business! Since this is a new position, it’s hard to say exactly what the roles/responsibilities will be over time, but I will say it will be important for this person to have a flexible mind and be okay rolling up their sleeves and be willing to solve problems as they come. As we see it, some of the responsibilities may include…

• Office and Supply Management – Manage our in-office inventory and supplies. Our cleaning and maintenance teams will be by to collect items (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) and it will be important for this team member to be able to manage the office and make sure we have that supplies needed
• Walk-Ins – Being professional, courteous and polished. We will inevitably get walk-ins, and while it won’t be your responsibility to have new client conversations (that’s for our Head of Sales & Onboarding) you will need to be able to greet them in a friendly manner, gather information, make them feel welcome and ensure we’re passing off everything so that way they know what next steps are.
• New Home Coordinating – You will be directly supporting our Head of Sales & Onboarding, helping to set up new homes and directly driving our growth!
• Home Visits – Making home visits will be part of the responsibilities. This might be dropping off a few items at a house or starting the laundry for the cleaners on a busy day.

So all in all, your responsibilities may be split between supporting the office, our existing homes and our new homes, which means we’ll need someone who is organized and well adapted for prioritization, which leads us to…

Required Experience and Skill-set – We believe some of the best candidates are able to learn quickly and bring fresh ideas from outside experiences! However, there are some soft skills we find important:

• Technology “Literate” – This position will be equal parts computer and “physical world”, so it’ll be important that this individual have intermediate to strong computer skills. This might involve ordering items on Amazon, crafting polished emails, updating Google Sheets (Google Suite experience), helping to create new Airbnb listings, and more!
• Positive Attitude – Good vibes only! You’ll be representing us in our office and the first impression for many potential clients or renters. We need someone who represents us well and is excited for the daily challenges 🙂
• Action-Oriented – We want someone who doesn’t get “paralysis by analysis”. Yes, attention to detail is important but it’s also important to know when to move forward and learn things on the fly! We’re all about progress, not perfection!
• Organization and Prioritization – This is a biggie. In order to be successful, you’ll need to have some organizational system in place. You’ll be lightly involved in a lot, so it’ll be important for the person in this role to understand what’s issues or projects to prioritize.

Hours:

Primarily M-F, 9a-5p. This isn’t a 60 hour/week start up job. Some days may be 6 hours of work, some may be 10. They won’t all be 9-5, and sometimes you’ll be in the office and other times you’ll be out and about.

Compensation:

The position will be salaried with a revenue share. We find the best “partnerships” are ones where both parties feel like they’re winning and we want to make sure any teammate we bring aboard feels more-than adequately compensated for the work they’re doing (and we feel that they are meeting that value on our end!). This is determined by level of experience, but our compensation range is starting at $60k-65k/year (and as we grow, you will be compensated more in turn!).
