The Role

Working in the Plum finance team is a great opportunity to gain insight into a growing business and how all the moving parts fit together. You’ll be working alongside some amazing people who you’ll be able to learn from.

Your role is to play a major part in building and running the financial infrastructure for the business. You will be working closely with other members of the finance team as well as the wider business. This role is varied and there is scope for the role to develop over time as we grow.

Here is what you can expect to be doing:

• Maintaining the finance relationship with other departments within the business, being the main point of contact for internal queries
• Assisting with month end preparation and accounting e.g. fixed assets, balance sheet recs, journals
• Assisting our remote bookkeeping team with queries as their main point of contact
• Analysis tasks – monthly tasks such as managing internal budgets as well as adhoc tasks
• Reconciling receivables transactions to our booking platform
• Managing our aged receivables balances
• Assisting with system implementations and tech project
• Focusing on process improvement – trying to constantly think about how we can do things better
• Assisting the Assistant Management Accountant and Financial Controller with any adhoc tasks needed with the scope to take on more tasks over time
• Overseeing Accounts Payable Assistant on tasks that fall under your responsibility areas
• Assisting with annual tasks such as the audit, plus ownership for other annual compliance tasks e.g. US 1099 filings

We are looking for someone with…

• 1-2 years experience in a finance role who has already started their studies
• Confidence – who can foster great working relationships in the business and use their initiative
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• great organisational and communication skills – a self starter
• Confidence with using new systems
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage different projects simultaneously
• A degree in accounting/finance or similar
• Xero experience and start up experience highly beneficial but not essential
