We’re Hiring for Continental Day Shift!
Continental Day Shift: 8:00am – 8:00pm
Work 7 (12 hour) days every 2 weeks
Work every other weekend
What You Get To Do:
Production:
Assign work according to operational needs and production capacity
Review, approve and draft documents relevant to management of production activities
Issue recommendations on production organization and makes adjustments
Ensure supply of raw material, components and other materials required for production
Confirm equipment availability and operational status.
Ensure that production processes are carried out
Ensure proper management of waste and residual materials
Collaborate on management processes and production processes
Participate in the training and development of production worker skills
Verify quality in consultation with the Quality Department
Ensure highest quality of production output is met or exceeded
Accurately measure performance throughout the shift
Ensure production rates are met or exceeded
Ensure work orders are complete
Monitor, report and endeavor to improve scrap rates.
Monitor compliance with production and quality standards
Report production statistics in NetSuite
Update production white board
Perform material inventory counts
Step in when needed to cover for a staff member
All other duties as required
Health and Safety:
Ensure the health and safety employees by following all internal as well as provincial and federal Health and Safety regulations, guidelines and advice
Understand the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Regulations and ensure compliance.
Understand and enforce Pliteq Inc’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
Ensure that workplace inspections are performed apart from those conducted by the JHSC
Ensure that employees wear the appropriate personal protective equipment
Advise each worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health and safety of the worker, of which the supervisor is aware
Investigate and determine the causes of all incidents/accidents and recommend corrective action
Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstance for the protection of a worker.
Ensure workers receive proper instruction and training, through training programs and/or safety meetings prior to the commencement of work
Identify and inform the employer of occupational health and safety concerns
Correct substandard acts or conditions
Commend good health and safety performance
Perform employee health and safety observations
Accountable for health and safety which is assessed during performance appraisals.
Performing regular work site inspections.
Set a good example by always wearing the appropriate PPE when required
Conduct and attend health safety meetings
Ensure that health and safety reference materials readily available to workers
Report H&S hazards, work refusals and accidents/incidents to the EHS Department
Hold workers accountable to all occupational health and safety policies, procedures and SOPS
Perform toolbox talks at the start of each shift
Impose progressive discipline on workers for contraventions of the Pliteq OHS programs, policies, procedures, SOPS and the occupational health and safety act and its regulations.
Human Resources:
Enforce Pliteq HR policies and procedures
Monitor attendance of all workers on their respective shift
Follow-up with workers who are absent from the workplace
Schedule additional labour when required
Schedule and enforce break and lunch times
Provide on the job supervision and direction
Integrate and perform orientation for new hires
Reporting HR and attendance issues to the HR Department
Assess worker performance
Participate in recruitment process
Recommend employees for hiring, promotions and termination
Ensure that the building remains secure against unauthorized entry
What We Are Ideally Looking For:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing or equivalent; preferably in the rubber, plastic or foam industries
Minimum of 3 years’ Supervisory experience; preferably in the manufacturing industry
Post-secondary education; preferably in engineering or equivalent experience
Thorough knowledge of operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation.
Working knowledge of computers (Production Control Systems, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
Superior communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical organizational skills
Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure
Proficiency and dependability in current position
Familiarity with Netsuite would be a strong asset
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to work a continental shift
Availability to work or be on call during days, afternoons, nights and/or weekends as required to support 24/7 manufacturing
