Summary
Pleora is seeking an experienced Software Product Manager who will be responsible for helping to accelerate development of our AI Solutions products to consumers in an engaging, functional way, while opening up fresh distribution channels and collaborating with other departments. As a Software Product Manager you will own the business strategy behind your products, specify functional requirements and generally manage the launch of features. Knowledge of key demographics and an innovative perspective on product development are important in this role. If you understand the quality inspection, automated inspection and machine vision markets and distribution channels, we are interested in speaking with you.
A background and expertise in the manufacturing process for one or more of our target markets is critical. You “speak the language” of our manufacturing customers and understand and appreciate their pain points. Ideally you have a background in AI and machine vision automation, but more critically, you understand manufacturers in our target markets, the issues that keep a quality manager awake at night, and what motivates purchasing decisions. You also bring proven presentation and technical skills to position Pleora’s products as a key solution that helps ensure end-to-end quality, lowers costs, and improves manual processes.
What you do
Be the owner and evangelist of assigned product portfolio and develop the product strategy
Be able to design and mock-up new features and solutions driven by market and user feedback and translate them into what needs to be done in the product
Gain a deep understanding of our customers and their business needs by collecting and analyzing feedback and data
Prioritize product features and capabilities in the product roadmap to ensure that we are working on the right things that will drive commercial impact
Act as the external and internal link for the company’s product offering, y working with key customers and sales channels
Evaluate market competition, gather competitive intelligence, and define differentiation of the products
Work with Marketing on position, messaging and product launch events
Work with the VP Sales & Marketing to prepare go-to-market plans communicate those to stakeholders throughout the organization
Identify potential channel partners and work with Sales and Marketing to develop recruitment, onboarding and support plans
Create business cases and plans for product launches and forecast performance
Contribute to the sales process by providing product expertise on sales calls to assist in moving/closing a sale
Provide content for and perform detailed reviews of product documentation (including user guides, datasheets, etc.), to ensure accuracy as well as clarity and usability
Participate in the creation and evolution of marketing and sales tools, including introductory product videos, competitive analysis documents, blogs, etc.
Work with the Operations and R&D teams on Engineering Change Orders, product cost reductions and other optimization efforts
Identify appropriate product demonstrations for trade shows
Other duties may be assigned as required.
What you need
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing required (MBA preferred) or related discipline; or a combination of work experience and education
5+ years experience working in technology with development teams delivering software products
Familiarity with web-based enterprise applications, product design, User Interface and integrations
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with the ability to speak to both to external customers and internal resources
Solid general understanding of software components and architecture to be able to define features based on customer requirements
Experience working with B2B software products and systems ideally targeted toward end-users in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment
Experience working with JIRA in an Agile software development environment
Experience working on product roadmaps and feature prioritization frameworks
Understanding of UX design, product and industrial design considerations
Knowledge of industrial vision systems, factory automation, computer vision, AI and Machine Learning software
Ability to analyze customer data and patterns
