What will you be doing?

Financial reporting and control duties:

• Managing the external audit process on an annual and half-yearly basis, which includes but not limited to the preparation of financial statements for Plenti Group Limited and its subsidiaries, liaising with auditors over audit requests etc.
• Preparation and review of manual journals posted by finance team members into the accounting system for month end reporting
• Co-ordination, review, and delivery of month end results within the agreed timetable, providing insights into the numbers to senior management
• Review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and implementing appropriate processes and controls to reduce risks of financial reporting errors
• Owning all banking arrangements and processes with our bankers including an understanding of our fees and pricing structures
• Managing daily payments processes including authorisation of payments on the technology platform and banking system
• Being the Finance representative in providing initial accounting solutions for new transactions and products as they arise
• Ownership of GST/BAS returns and the GST grouping structures
• Budgeting and cost analysis
• Review of APRA returns prepared by team members
• Ad hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller and/or CFO
• Identification and delivery of end-to-end process improvements within Finance, leveraging current systems

Team and Stakeholder management duties:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure stakeholders are informed and updated regarding the status and progress of initiatives undertaken by the team
• Manage a program of work to deliver solutions and capabilities that meet business requirements and realise benefits within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality
• Coach the team and individuals to ensure success
• Maintain communication channels and establish effective relationships with senior management and their teams e.g., operations and engineering teams
• Must have strong negotiation and influencing skills to drive discussions and effective outcomes
• Must communicate with confidence, care, and genuine interest. Take personal responsibility for delivering ongoing operational speed and efficiency initiatives

What you will need to be successful in this role:

• CA or CPA qualifications
• 6+ years post qualifications experience (preferably in banking or financial services)
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of month end journals
