Job Title: Accounting Associate
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

As an Accounting Associate, you will liaise and assist the Director of Finance with budgeting, reconciliation, reporting duties, and other administrative tasks. The duties and responsibilities of an Accounting Associate include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Preparing invoices, stamping invoices for signature, and disseminating to appropriate departments for approval.
• Processing invoices for payment and preparing for signature and distribution.
• Matching invoice with purchase order and entering into payment system.
• Mailing checks and filing invoices with remittance slips.
• Reconciling all month end vendor statements to ensure balances are accurate.
• Preparing month-end accounts payable aging reports for financial close.
• Assisting with monthly close, financial statement preparation, and posting journal entries.
• Reconciling monthly bank statements.
• Maintaining ledger of capital assets and other salary and wage analyses.
• Preparing monthly expense to budget reports for department managers.
• Assisting with preparation of annual budget.
• Assisting with compliance, audits, surveys, and other calculations as necessary.
• Maintaining payroll-based journal (PBJ) reporting on a daily basis, verifying data is input into HCM system for PBJ compliance.
• Assists with bi-weekly payroll preparation.
• Maintaining records and filing systems.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience working in an accounting department or other professional services environment.
• Experience in skilled nursing or acute-care facilities preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with MS Excel. Ability to create charts and pivot tables a plus.
• Proficiency with Smartlinx HCM a plus.
• Ability to multitask, manage time, and meet multiple deadlines.
• Alertness and meticulous attention to detail.
