General Ledger Accountant

We are seeking a full-time General Ledger Accountant at our Corporate Office in Cape Girardeau,

MO. This is a salary position. This position would work with existing accounting department staff members and management.

This position requires great attention to detail, expert understanding of accounting debits and credits, and a friendly and professional personality. Hours are typical business hours and occasional Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Maintain complete general ledger for the company that includes 71 stores and growing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Create documents to prove balance sheet accounts
• Review income and expense accounts for reasonableness.
• Assist with month end close process.
• Financial Statement proof/verification process.
• Excel Spreadsheet work using advanced skills such as VLookup, If Stmts and Pivot Tables.
• Backup to weekly payroll processing, Various daily and weekly payroll tasks, Prepare quarterly payroll returns and year end W2’s/ACA reporting.
• Other accounting related duties that may to be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• At least 5 years’ experience in general ledger accounting and some payroll experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and UKG/Kronos software is beneficial.
• Critical, analytical, and creative thinking to identify and solve problems.
• Working with large volumes of data and documents.
• Accuracy and number balancing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in advanced Excel skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to work and communicate with all other positions within the company.
• Willingness to grow knowledge and skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
