PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

This position is responsible for completing general ledger entries, system imports and exports, account reconciliations and activity analysis primarily focused on loan level mortgage and servicing transactions and other related functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company. Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.

• Reconcile and process loan level transactions for funding, purchases, warehouse bank transactions, security advances, and settlements, etc.
• Prepare daily and month end journal entries and accruals as assigned.
• Reconcile, research, and analyze warehouse bank transactions, cash and other balance sheet accounts as assigned.
• Tracking, processing and monitoring loan repurchases from investors
• Flow Service Release control, monitoring and reconciliation
• Corporate Advance and P&I advance monitoring and analysis
• MSR Sales reconciliation, recording, accruals and analysis
• MSR service release reconciliation and analysis, to include loan reconciliations, escrow transfer, corporate and P&I advances reconciliations, EPO/EPO and accrual adjustments.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA degree in Accounting or Finance

· Minimum 5 years of general accounting, reconciliation, investor accounting, or comparable financial services experience

o Mortgage accounting experience desired

o Knowledge of GSAs (FHLMC, GNMA, FNMA)

o Experience in investor and custodial accounting a major plus

• Knowledge of Loan Origination Systems and/or LPS/Black Night or other Mortgage Investor Accounting systems a plus

· Excellent software skills and Microsoft Office computer skills, including Excel & Word

o Must be highly proficient in Excel

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate work
• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of handling and meeting deadlines, and prioritizing in fast-paced environment with a heavy volume of transactions

· Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment

o Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

o Strong research & analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to analyze and reconcile business transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment and recognize issues and anomalies that require research or escalation

• Experience with computerized accounting systems, proficiency with data imports/exports and manipulation/analysis as well as experience reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts
• Ability to analyze and reconcile business transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment and recognize issues and anomalies that require research or escalation

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

This position receives guidance and instruction from the Accounting Manager as needed, makes some decisions and takes appropriate independent action within scope of job responsibilities. Incumbent’s work is reviewed by the Accounting Manager as part of monthly reviews of reconciliations, analyses and financials. Formal reviews are completed annually or as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

INTERACTION WITH OTHERS:

Internally: Primarily Corporate and field operations personnel, Loan Servicing and Treasury in a hybrid remote environment.

Externally: Subservicer, investors, and other industry partners

USE OF DISCRETION AND INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT

Accountants make decisions regarding accounting entries and are responsible for accurate and sound accounting judgement. Incorrect entries have a potentially material affect on company financials. Accountants may also make decisions regarding the accuracy of subservicer entries and reconciliations and report to management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:

This position requires constant talking, hearing, and use of hands and fingers, as well as frequent standing and walking as well as occasional stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, bending at waist, crouching and reaching with hands and arms. Incumbent must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Good vision at both close range and at distance is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

This position works primarily indoors in a hybrid office/remote setting with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job. Some rare travel by car or plane may be required.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
