If you are interested in broadcast media and have excellent written and oral English communication skills, apply now to become a Media Voice Captioner with 3Play Media Canada.

You will be trained to use voice recognition software to create captions for live broadcast programming and time-coding software to align text to recorded media.

Based in our Calgary, Alberta office, the ideal candidate will have a combination of the following skills and competencies:

• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• An articulate, clear and strong speaking voice
• Demonstrated time-management skills
• Ability to respond calmly, and think quickly under pressure
• Keen interest in geography, sports, politics, and current affairs
• Experience proofreading, editing text for 100% accuracy would be an asset
• Native English fluency
• Spanish or French fluency considered an asset

Selected candidates will undergo competency tests.

Special preference will be given to those with a second language and/or a post-secondary education.

Starting Salary is $18.00/hr during training and increase to $20/hr after training and probationary period is completed.

Work Schedule

• Full-time positions averaging 36 hours/week
• Late-evening shift work including weekends

Selection Process

The selection process for this role includes 2 components. You will be asked to complete a practical respeaking test where you repeat dialogue while a video plays. If successful, you will be asked to complete an online spelling, punctuation, and grammar test. Successful candidates will be invited to interview.
