Accountant

Are you an Accountant who enjoys working in a small company, wearing multiple hats and helping with all things accounting? We are looking for a Part-Time Accountant to work with our Controller to help manage the finances of the company and provide/analyze the facts to help the business make decisions. This role is 5 days per week but 16 – 20 hours total.

Platt Builders is an award-winning residential renovation and custom cabinetry company that offers Partnered Design, Project Management, Custom Cabinetry & Millwork, and Finish Level Carpentry. These specialties enable us to deliver turn-key custom home construction and remodeling projects.

Position Responsibilities:

1) Project Based Accounting:

• Meet with Project Managers
• Send out weekly client billing
• Review project reporting
• Review change request
• Send change requests to client on NitroPro
• Schedule close out meetings upon completion
• Produce field incentive reports and calculations

2) Real Estate Based Accounting

• Manage weekly operations of real estate business
• Produce monthly financials and review with Controller
• Produce quarterly financials and meet President and Controller to review business.

3) General Accounting

• Assist in cash flow monitoring
• Assist in month end process
• Prepare WIP Report & WIP Cover Sheets
• Prepare Bank Recs
• Assist with year-end tax process

4) Manage Real Estate Accounting

5) Admin – mail, phones, greeting visitors

6) Cross train in all other Accounting areas

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance and advanced degree strongly preferred
• 5 – 7 years of accounting experience
• Excellent accounting knowledge, with high competence in A/P, A/R, general journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation. Strong conceptual understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• High degree of proficiency with Excel; strong computer aptitude and willingness to learn new programs. (QuickBooks, Excel, and Word a must)
• Highly motivated and detail-oriented with exceptional analytical skills
• The ability to interact and communicate professionally with the client and co-workers.
