Platform Housing Group Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Birmingham, England Full Time

This is a varied role where you will be providing support to Platform Property Care (PPC), to achieve their strategic and business objectives. You will be assisting in the preparation of the annual PPC budget, producing financial performance reports, providing accounting support to the Finance Business Partner such as journal posting, transaction matching and management of purchase to pay transactions.

You will have great exposure in reporting, budgets, and forecasting, with the opportunity to get involved in small projects. You will also be working closely with the finance business partners and budget holders and will provide support in challenging business thinking in the pursuit of informed decision making and driving business strategy.

Some of the things we are looking for

AAT level 3 (or equivalent qualification or experience)

5 GCSE’s or equivalent (including maths) grade 4 (C) or above.

At least one years’ experience in accounting in a large and complex organisation with substantial budgets (experience within property or housing would be considered desirable)

Experience of providing accounting information to challenging deadlines

The ability to use technology effectively and have strong IT skills (particularly MS Excel)

Experience of providing an excellent customer driven service

Experience of interpreting information, carrying out research, analysing complex data, appraising performance, and managing risk

A confident communicator with the ability to establish strong, sustained working relationships based on respect and effective negotiation and influencing skills

You should also have some flexibility of working hours to meet deadlines as necessary (such as month end/year-end)

While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices for meetings as required. Our Group offices are in Birmingham Business Park and Central Park, Worcester. We will reimburse travel expenses to meetings as per the Inland Revenue mileage rates.
