Position Summary: As the Director – Managed Services Technology, you will lead the effective adoption and usage of technology in Pivotree’s cloud managed services business. You will supervise teams of engineers and architects, and partner with our product management and customer experience teams to: 1. Conceive, develop and deliver effective hosting solutions for commerce, data management and supply chain applications. 2.

Develop innovative ways to increase the quality and efficiency of our service delivery using technology. We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, managed services, as well as a solid understanding of cloud architecture concepts and a great track record providing leadership for technology people. You will lead a team of solution architects working with our customers and oversee teams responsible for engineering capabilities that power these solutions – both public and private cloud. Roles & Responsibilities: • Own the technology plan and roadmap for Pivotree’s managed cloud services.

• Ensure alignment of roadmap to customer needs and Pivotree’s business objectives. • Work with our product management team on innovative product ideas and prioritizing them. • Own the technology team budget for managed cloud services. • Supervise teams of engineers and architects building our managed cloud services.
• Ensure smooth and effective adoption of new technology by our teams and customers. • Oversee design, estimation and execution of technology initiatives. • Ensure proper lifecycle management is applied to technology deployed for our managed cloud solutions. • Continually work to evolve & improve the process and efficiency of your teams.

Key Skills and Competencies: • Ability & experience in leadership of direct reporting and cross-functional teams. • Strong expertise in private & public cloud infrastructure solutions. • A passion for learning and developing skills in people. • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.

• Strong decision making skills & critical thinking are great assets in this role. • Strong listening, independent thought and influencing skills.8+ years of experience in managing infrastructure for business critical applications. • 5+ years in a technology leadership role, director level or equivalent. • 5+ years building and running production workloads using public cloud technologies.
• 5+ years managing technology vendor relationships. • 3+ years managing an IT budget – including government R&D funding & amortization. • Strong understanding of modern cybersecurity concepts and technologies. • Experience with IT automation projects and demonstrating ROI for them.
• Associate level architect certification for AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. • Experience in the hosting and / or managed services industry (Asset) • Agile product owner or scrum master experience and / or training (Asset) Pivotree is an equal opportunity employer.
