PRODUCTION & PACKAGING TEAM MEMBERS

Our production and packaging team members are responsible for operating various type of packaging and processing machinery (bag filler, sealing machines, freezers, etc.) to ensure our various types of fish food are packaged, frozen and boxed in accordance with our customer needs. Piscine Energetics supplies fish food to Zoos and Public Aquariums, University and Scientific Research Institutions and and retail aquarium pet stores around the world.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of Production Team Members:
1.) Work within a team based environment which requires the ability to learn and train on several types of machines and able to rotate to all workstations within the area
2.) Work in a fast past setting while maintaining a SAFE work environment
3.) Fill and package various size packages of fish food in a timely fashion without compromising quality
4.) Maintain a clean and tidy work environment which includes daily cleanup and sanitization in accordance with company policy (Our packaging facility maintains a certificate issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency)

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
– High School Diploma
– Physically fit/strong (able to lift 60lbs), you will be required to be on your feet much of each shift performing repetitive tasks.
– Ability to take initiative, work in a team environment and follow strict policies and safety procedures
– Valid first aid certificate (higher level first aid certificates will be looked favourably upon)

Preferred Qualifications:
*Valid Class 5 driver’s license
*Forklift operators’ card
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Dedicated team player with a “safety first” approach
*Post secondary education will be looked favourably upon)
*Experience working in a food processing environment and experience and familiarity with HACCAP and CFIA
*Experience operating production and packaging machinery
* Experience working in a production, processing, and/or a team-based environment
*Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment and Conditions:
– Our processing and production facility is certified by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
– Working environment = high sanitary policy & procedures are adhered to by all staff (i.e. gloves, hand washing, etc.)

Compensation:
– Starting hourly wage for successful candidates for this position is $20/hr + performance bonus [Plus various advancement opportunities within our growing team]
