Position Details :

Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Kalamazoo, MI is currently looking for a HVAC Technician / CONTRACT-TO-PERM to join their expanding team.

Job Title : HVAC Technician / CONTRACT-TO-PERM

Duration : 6 month contract, extendable up to 36 months

Location : Kalamazoo, MI

6 months with the goal of converting to full time employee.

Job Description :

Working with a dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production / non-production equipment.

You are recognized as a subject matter expert with specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment.

You will be entrusted with adapting standard methods and procedures by applying your knowledge, prior work experience and requirements.

Your business awareness of cross-organizational impact on project delivery will elevate the quality of project deliverables.

You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.

Position Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, changeovers, adjustments and repair of production and process equipment, the general facility, and utility equipment.

Heavy emphasis on refrigeration knowledge

Routine and corrective maintenance on industrial chillers, air handler units, fans, HEPA filtration, particulate sensing, and compressors.

Participate in multicraft work activities as required.

Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, and a proactive maintenance of systems and mechanical equipment in a cost-effective manner.

Participate in safety training programs and utilize tools, equipment etc. in a safe manner as per plant safety procedures.

Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.

Follow all SOP and (Current) Good Manufacturing Practices (part of GxP) requirements.

Manage own time, professional development and accountable for own results.

Prioritize own workflow

Organizational Relationships

Will work closely with other HVAC mechanics, various trades from other teams, operations, engineering, and leadership

May work with other contracted resources that provide support during shut downs as needed

Required (education and skills) :

High School Diploma or GED

Journeyman HVAC / R

3+ years related experience in HVAC / R mechanical equipment service industry

Universal EPA certification

Technical Skills :

Refrigeration knowledge and experience required

Industrial chiller maintenance experience preferred

Physical Portions :

Potential for routine exposure to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes. equipment in motion, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending, and heavy lifting.

The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must.

Comments :

Normal business hours 7 : 00am – 3 : 30pm. 6 months with the goal of converting to full time employee.

Exposure to penicillin in one of the buildings, at some point we will need to know if contractor is allergic as to ensure they do not work in that building.

Minimum Education :

High School Diploma or GED

Journeyman HVAC / R

Universal EPA certification

3+ years of working experience
