JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Accounting will supervise and lead the day-to-day operations of accounting. Supervision will include the Controller, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll Coordinator, and other individuals as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer. Primary responsibilities include the accurate and timely completion of internal and external financial statements, ad hoc financial reports, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, the external audit and any other project deliverable requested by the Pinnacle Leadership Team. This position will also include the maintenance and, when needed, implementation and development, of various business systems.

Job Duties (Essential)

• Direct the management of the monthly closing of the financial systems, ensuring all activities are executed in a timely manner and in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
• Develop accounting policies, processes, and internal controls consistent with GAAP
• Research, analyze, and implement new accounting pronouncements
• Lead the planning, organizing and coordinating of the year-end close process, external audits and compliance reporting
• Provide leadership and proper supervision to the corporate accounting team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations
• Adaptable to change
• Very strong attention to detail and high regard for confidentiality
• Must have the ability to travel occasionally, including some overnight travel
• Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple deliverables, deadlines and priorities in an ever-changing environment.
• Must have the ability to work from home, if needed
• Excellent interpersonal and profession oral/written communication skills
• Not-for-profit experience preferred
• Health care/ senior living experience preferred
• Ability to work in a team culture using team participation practices

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree
• 7 years of accounting experience
• CPA
