Pictona, a blend of pickleball + Daytona, is a community center focused primarily on pickleball and other recreational activities. Pictona includes 24 pickleball courts, 8 of which are covered, a lounge, game room, locker rooms, player shop, and a restaurant called the Kitchen at Pictona.

Pictona is building a second facility called Pictona 2. It adds another 24 courts and a stadium with a championship court which will seat 1200. The two-story building adjacent to the stadium, called the Pictona Training Center, will include a second Welcome Desk, another Player Shop, classroom, meeting rooms, offices and “skyboxes” for viewing play on the Championship court. Pictona 2 is scheduled for completion in October 2022.

The Education Director will coordinate the educational and training programs of the Pictona Training Center. The duties include the development and delivery of courses for players, instructors, referees, and administrators.

The essential skills are (1) the ability to conceptualize courses, help develop the resources for those courses, and guide others in developing those courses, and (2) to develop the delivery system to offer these courses, including the selection and training of instructors.

The educator selected for this position will have demonstrated teaching experience as well as experience developing educational resources. An in-depth knowledge of pickleball is essential, but being a professional player is not, but may be helpful if the person has the other qualifications. This is a teacher educator position, not a teaching position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
