Title:

Billing Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Send primary and secondary claims.
• Receive confirmation of sent claims.
• Send patient statements.
• Receive patient phone calls.
• Post EOB’s.
• Follow up on denied claims.
• Obtain claim status on outstanding claims and balances.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience in a similar position.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
• Acquaintance with widely-used patient accounting/billing systems and clearinghouses.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD9, CPT, and HCPC coding.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer rules and regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Bonus Points:

• Active certifications such as CPC and CMRS.
