Job Summary:
This role suits an ambitious leader responsible for directing, managing and developing the processes and individuals that encompass the accounting function within the Finance department. As the Accounting Manager, you are responsible for the integrity of the financial information, including the book and tax records and other financial activities within Phillips Distilling Company. The accounting functions include, Accounts Payable and vendor processes, Accounts Receivable and customer billings, month end close processes as well as other daily financial transactions related to the accounting function within the Finance Department.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise, manage, and direct the personnel within the accounting and treasury function of the Finance Department, with the support of the Accounting Supervisor, Sr. Staff Accountant and staff.
• Responsible for accounting accuracy and timely close of financial information in conformity with GAAP
• Manages all accounting operations including billings, A/R, A/P and GL.
• Ensures timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all applicable taxes including income, sales, real estate and corporate returns.
• Manages all audit functions with external auditors relating to financial information.
• Research technical accounting policies and implement new standards, as applicable.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Maintains accuracy of the Company’s accounting system (Oracle) and implements changes to the system as warranted.
• Manages banking transactions, including wires/ACH payments, collections, and debt covenant compliance
• Manages the Company’s property, casualty, executive, cyber and receivables insurance policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university (Accounting or Finance preferred) and 8+ year of relevant finance/accounting experience, including 2-3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Relevant experience working within a Finance department, including experience with companies in the manufacturing industry, specifically experience with CPG is preferred.
• Ability to analyze, review and interpret complex data.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and understanding of financial statements.
• Use mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Proficient in using Oracle or like kind ERP systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and other systems.
• Proficient computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, complex accounting systems etc.
• Prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
• CPA/MBA, a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees, including financial and non-financial.
