Position Summary
Provides management guidance and oversight to employees who areresponsible for Capital Accounting, Energy Accounting, BenefitsAccounting, Affiliate Accounting, Utility Financial Accounting, RevenueAccounting, Revenue Reporting & Cash Reconciliation.
Job Responsibilities
Actively communicates issues and key activities to management.
Assists analysts and senior analysts in identifying areas for process improvement at the desk level.
Assists in development of research objectives, approach design and analysis on impacting accounting issues.
Assists in setup of processes, procedures and other improvement efficiencies:
Assists with the development and implementation of strategy in support of department goals.
Coordinates activities across multiple functional groups; manages and works collaboratively in taskforce teams.
Identifies process improvements to reduce risk during account review, improve effectiveness of communications with business partners, and gain efficiencies during monthly close review procedures.
Identifies, researches, and coordinates the resolution of accounting issues.
Maintains and improves relationships with key business partners to gather information to ensure timelines of capturing transactions in the financial statements and resolving potential issues.
Provides guidance on appropriate techniques and methodologies for analyzing regulatory decisions.
Provides guidance to direct reports in the process of researching and resolving issues. May also lead the resolution of more complex accounting / disclosure issues.
Review monthly variance analysis.
Review supporting documentation for SEC and regulatory filings.
Reviews and interprets policies, reporting requirements, rules and regulations:
Reviews month-end closing process (journal entries and reconciliations).
Supervises and contributes to the department and company projects initiatives to improve processes and understands / translates financial impacts.
Supervises the monitoring and development of monthly reports and recording of assets, liabilities and/or other transactions:
Supervises, mentors, and develops a team of two or more employees. Manages work group budget.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Job-related experience, 5 years
Desired:
Experience in accounting, or related, 8 years
CPA-Certified Public Accountant certification
