Pfeiffer Vacuum Valves and Engineering Hiring for Industrial Engineer Full Time

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing engineering technical support to ensure operational goals are achieved through continuous improvement of equipment, materials, processes and manufacturing practices.

Duties

Data collection of manufacturing labor, materials, process times, etc.

Analyzes collected data and validates data, models, and conclusions.

Review and rewrite existing routers to increase manufacturing productivity and efficiency.

Constructs and updates capacity models from product, process, equipment, and labor data.

Analyzes product inputs and capacity models to perform capacity planning.

Analyzes workflow, cycle time and bottlenecks for production resource planning.

Evaluation and proposal of new manufacturing processes, or improvements to current ones.

Develops workflow models using theory of constraints.

Works with manufacturing leadership team to execute workflow models.

Analyzes labor, material, and fixed costs to develop and update product costing models.

Manages projects as needed.

Reviews and optimizes production work documentation as needed.

50% inside, climate / noise-controlled office, and 50% high noise level machine shop environment; lifting to 50 lbs. on occasion. Eye and hearing protection may be required, and other protective clothing required while visiting customers.

Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

General Qualifications:

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college/university with a degree in Industrial Engineering (or related field), that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.

Minimum of 36 months in related Industrial Engineering experience, with 12-months specific experience in precision metals fabrication and machining. Hands-on, basic machining skills, and/or thorough knowledge and understanding required.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers, customers, and other departmental personnel in a professional and positive manner. Technical writing skills to include the preparation of engineering test protocols, engineering test s, and manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures.

Must be familiar with state-of-the-art engineering methodologies as they pertain to manufacturing stainless steel, high-vacuum chambers, and components.

Must have strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize and complete competing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Familiar with engineering documentation processes, including ECO procedures, BOMs and Item Masters, and various documentation filing systems.

Requires strong ability to work with others in the department to share specific knowledge of products, processes, and/or procedures to continuously make improvements.

Ability to effectively use M/S Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or their equivalent).
