WHO YOU ARE:

The Vice President of Accounting oversees all financial matters for the organization, including supervising senior members of the accounting team. The VP of Accounting is responsible for the production of financial reports, banking relationships, monitoring of cash flow, and creation of a comprehensive budget. The desired candidate will be a respectful, compassionate, and positive Team Player with management experience in long-term care finance and accounting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows.
• Overseeing the month-end financial close process, including account analysis, and related reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensuring all accounting reporting is in compliance with Company policies and the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Leading the Company’s activities with external auditors.
• Oversees the direction and strategy for the department, including driving continuous improvement at all levels.
• Overseeing payroll and related employment taxes, 401k, and other related benefits and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinating preparation and filing of annual tax returns with a third-party tax preparer.
• Collaborate with the leadership team and overall Finance department in AP, AR/Revenue, FinOps, Payroll, Tax, FP&A
• Manage the quarterly business tax process to ensure timely government reporting and payments
• Modernize accounting department by introducing software for efficiency

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATION

• 10 + years of progressive accounting experience in Fintech. Public accounting experience is a plus.
• BA/BS in Accounting required.
• CPA certification is required
• Strong accounting knowledge, with proven GAAP and internal controls experience.
• Expert proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop / Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Extreme attention to detail and high regard for precision
• Vendor selection and implementation of accounting software
