Peterson Cat has a need for an experienced Director of Talent based at our Hillsboro, OR location. The Director of Talent will be a thought leader and innovator within Peterson’s well established Human Resources team. The person in the position will lead a transformational effort focused on the full life cycle of our people; from hire to retire. We need someone with passion for onboarding incredible people and then a drive for developing that talent even further. The Director will lead the charge in building on the Peterson brand to convince future teammates that we will exceed their career expectations. This role will own recruiting, onboarding, training and development, performance management and succession. In what other job can you have such influence over peoples’ futures?!

Responsibilities:

Drive Talent Acquisition Engine

• Oversee the Talent Acquisition team, provide strategic leadership on sourcing, hiring and employee acquisition
• Build on the existing strength of the Peterson brand to capture the hearts and minds of existing and future employees
• Build talent pipelines with a focus on a diverse employee population
• Build strategic relationships with key organizations, institutions, trade and technical schools, colleges and high schools

Maximize Learning and Development

• Oversee Peterson University; including technical training, customer training, management training, and soft skills training
• Work to develop and implement programs that enrich Peterson and our people (mentorship, coaching, internships, management rotations, etc.)
• Manage Peterson University as a profit center by selling our unique training to customers and neighboring dealerships
• Develop comprehensive learning and development plans for all job types

Transform Careers

• Build out the internal talent pool and sourcing external talent pipeline to enable strategic growth
• Develop a comprehensive succession planning program to enable growth and movement for employees within Peterson
• Partner with the full HR team on employee retention initiatives and programs
• Revitalize the performance review cycle to enhance feedback to employees
• Utilize performance feedback to continually improve learning and development plans

A candidate for the opening needs a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Marketing/Branding or other closely related field and ten years of directly related work experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must be able to travel to branch locations through-out the Peterson territory. Estimated travel is up to 25% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $200,000.00 per year
