Peterborough City Council Hiring for Dual – Skilled English and Maths Tutor Job at Peterborough, England Full Time

We have a great opportunity based at City College Peterborough for a full time, Dual-Skilled English and Maths tutor to become a key member of our Functional Skills and GCSE department.

As a tutor in maths and English, you will play a pivotal role in the success of your learners; You will plan your lessons to inspire and you will support your learners on their personal journeys to success. You will need to be an experienced, self-motivated, and confident tutor with the ability to adapt and you will be competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Essential to this post is the ability to carry out some of the quality assurance in the department, as lead internal quality assurance you will also be required to arrange and chair standardisation meetings with colleagues in the department.

As part of your role as English and Maths tutor, you will contribute to the continued development of the department, you will need to support the administrator with initially assessing the learners prior to placement and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position. The successful candidate will need to be qualified in maths and English to A level or above. The College firmly believes that our employees are the heart of the organisation and having the right people in the right place is the key to our success.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The successful candidate will be required to:

• Be dual-skilled in English and maths
• Establish effective working relationships with learners of all ages and abilities
• Monitor, support and record learner progress
• Provide innovative and stimulating lessons
• Work as part of a team to achieve timely results
• Have proven experience in carrying out internal, quality assessment (IQA)

This position is primarily working with 19+ learners.
