Our public sector client are recruiting for a Project Manager on a temporary basis for a 3 month interim contract, with possible extension until 2024. The position is based in Perth but given the current restrictions, colleagues are currently working from home. This is a full time post working 40 hours per week 9am – 5:30pm with a daily rate of £280 – £360.

Due to the nature of this role, successful applicants will require a Basic Disclosure certificate issued within the last 12 months.

The postholder must have a full UK Driver’s License.

As a Project Manager you will be an experienced Civil Engineer (with experience in flood risk management) to lead and assist in the delivery of a major Capital Flood Protection Scheme. This will involve supervising, and working with, existing staff members as well managing external Consulting Engineers and Contractors to deliver the project.

The candidate will be required to act as the Client’s representative and project manage the external Consulting Engineers during the detailed design, procurement and construction of the new flood scheme. The candidate should be capable of working with minimal supervision.

Ideally the candidate with be either an Incorporated Engineer (as a minimum), a Chartered Engineer or nearing Chartered status.

Essential Criteria

• Ideally qualified to Incorporated, Chartered (or near Chartered) status with The Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience of managing the NEC suite of contract documents.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in working in a Local Authority environment.
