Teaching and Quality Advisor – Apprenticeships Sector

As a Teaching and Quality Advisor, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by driving excellence and innovation in education.

• Manchester based with nationwide travel. Hybrid role. The expectation to travel will be discussed at shortlisting stage.
• Permanent
• £32,550 to £36,500 dependant on experience
• 37 days leave per year (inclusive of public holidays), plus one additional day awarded for each year of service up to a maximum of 3 additional days

Key Responsibilities of the Teaching, Learning and Quality Advisor:

• Conduct sampling of the off-the-job training requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
• Oversee safeguarding processes, conducting thorough walkthroughs and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Stand as the national Internal Verifier.
• Work closely with the Head of Contracts and Quality to devise and drive a strategy for improving teaching and learning based on Education Inspection Framework
• Ensure progress reviews align with the education inspection framework, providing feedback to Training and Skills Coaches for continuous improvement.
• Carry out Mocksted observations to assess teaching effectiveness and provide valuable feedback to enhance instructional practices.
• Adhere to awarding body guidelines and standardise the functional skills programme.
• Regularly sample operational activity through observation and evaluation to ensure quality assurance activity leads to improvement.
• Coach and develop staff to increase their effectiveness.
• Support and facilitate self-assessment across the provision.
• Effectively use self-assessment and evaluation to inform regional quality improvement plans.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Teaching Learning and Quality Advisor:

• Proven track record in apprenticeships, quality assurance, teaching, learning, and assessment within the education sector.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to apprenticeships.
• Hold a recognised Teachers award, Assessors award and an IQA Award.
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with the ability to effectively evaluate and support their implementation.
• Familiarity with the education inspection framework and its application in conducting progress reviews.
