SUMMARY
Product Line Manager (PLM) Hardgoods / Gear manages product, from concept to finished goods. The process includes market/consumer research, specification, testing, evaluation/analysis, and commercialization. The PLM assists the Director of Sport Performance and the rest of the merchandising team in the development and execution of products in accordance with agreed-upon design, pricing, and brand strategy. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Take on accountability for a classification or product category for the entire product life cycle.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure timely execution of key product management milestones is met within the seasonal end-to-end calendar.
• Participates in merchandising strategies and seasonal line plans, product briefs, and roadmaps to build profitable assortments that will meet business objectives and financial targets.
• Conduct global market landscape research and analysis to identify new opportunities for Nike Swim to  compete and create value for consumers, retailers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage daily communications with liaison offices and outside vendors. Support efficient process / communication flow by interfacing with all functional areas of the business (design, sales, sourcing, marketing) to maintain  successful workflow.
• Provide comments / approvals for all new development (concept to commercialization); to ensure accurate production / manufacturability.
• Assist Product Integrity & Customer Safety teams, to meet all necessary seasonal testing / compliance requirements for both product & packaging.
• Own graphic asset management for Swim Caps and all badge / borrow items; collaborate with apparel design teams to maximize cross-merch opportunities. Accountable for ensuring vendors correctly execute against all graphic assets.
• Maintains PLM software for all new & carryover styles, owns all PLM assets for flow into NuOrder / Sales Toolkit.
• Responsible for build-out of all seasonal Swim Gear Tech Packs, and Tech Sheets; creating CADS and providing all necessary supplemental information / specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining integrity of all styles throughout the entire development cycle, within the PLM system.
• Support sample management process to include tracking samples for assigned categories and ensure on-time delivery, sample organization, invoicing and tracking of sample budget. Oversee that loaned samples are returned in a timely manner.
• Attend weekly WIP meetings, ensure all important issues and questions are communicated to lead merchant / Director of Sport Performance when he or she cannot attend meetings.
• Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings, providing updates on new development; and general project tracking information.
• Lead collaboration between cross-functional teams to execute against all product / packaging needs. 
• Coordinate any 3rd party external prototyping.
• Responsible for travel / attendance of relevant trade shows, to assist with overall product R & D.

SKILLS:

• Candidates must be highly-organized, detail-oriented, team-players; with the ability to work well within a small team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Product Design, Sports Product Management, Merchandising; or a related field.
• 3-5 years of related experience in Hardgoods / Accessories / Apparel. Swim Industry experience is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
