The responsibilities of the Special Education Teacher’s position will include the following:

• Assures compliance with Missouri Education requirements and regulations by developing, implementing and monitoring each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), including behavioral-based goals and objectives, life skills, and vocation skills.
• Ensures documentation for students are timely and accurate documentation as required by regulatory and hospital’s requirements.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring each student’s Individual Education Plan, including behavioral-based goals, objectives, life skills and vocational skill

• Develop and implement individualized academic programs by assessing the students for academic proficiency, social-emotional development, and vocation skills.
• Manage the classroom to maintain a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
• Review referral and assessment data for each assigned student’s history, issues and disabilities and prepares for IEP and treatment planning meetings.
• Provide a classroom conducive of learning and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Maintain adequate inventory of school supplies and replenish as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital’s guidelines and works well with all of the multi-disciplinary treatment team members along with the guardians and parents of the assigned students.

Qualifications for this position includes the following:

• Valid Teacher License and/or appropriate endorsement

• Required – Certified in Special Education in State of Missouri
