Perimeter Behavioral of Jackson is designed to treat acute mental health disorders in adolescents. We offer acute and residential treatment that aims to treat chronic mental and behavioral disorders of adolescents. We are committed to providing personalized treatment utilizing a multidisciplinary approach.

The responsibilities of the Special Education Teacher’s position will include the following:

• Assures compliance with Tennessee Education requirements and regulations by developing, implementing and monitoring each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), including behavioral-based goals and objectives, life skills, and vocation skills.
• Ensures documentation for students are timely and accurate documentation as required by regulatory and hospital’s requirements.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring each student’s Individual Education Plan, including behavioral-based goals, objectives, life skills and vocational skill

• Develop and implement individualized academic programs by assessing the students for academic proficiency, social-emotional development, and vocation skills.
• Manage the classroom to maintain a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
• Review referral and assessment data for each assigned student’s history, issues and disabilities and prepares for IEP and treatment planning meetings.
• Provide a classroom conducive of learning and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Maintain adequate inventory of school supplies and replenish as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital’s guidelines and works well with all of the multi-disciplinary treatment team members along with the guardians and parents of the assigned students.

Qualifications for this position includes the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in Education
• Valid Teacher License and/or appropriate endorsement
• Prefer candidates who are certified in Special Education in State of Arkansas
• One to two years’ experience prefer in Special Education setting
