Position Charter:
As a truly global, fully-remote company that is experiencing significant growth, already with colleagues in more than 50 countries, the Director of Talent Acquisition is a critical function in our quest to uncover and hire amazing talent from pockets all over the world. This person is a partner with hiring managers and the business more broadly to understand our resource needs, promote best-in-class talent acquisition practices, and create talent insights.
This role has a truly amazing charter – to make an impact by operating within the core of the business to build our global teams. This role will evolve the foundational elements of the recruiting craft and be a progressive influencer of how we approach talent acquisition worldwide. There will be plenty of opportunities for this person to be a Percona evangelist, help other recruiters remove blockers, be an escalation point for candidates, and create a differentiated candidate experience.

What you will do:

    • Elevate our talent acquisition practice
    • Create a solid recruiting foundation through systems, process, and approaches
    • Sharpen the ‘craft of recruiting’ for the TA team – training, anchoring candidates, selling techniques, negotiation, closing, and sourcing
    • Develop differentiated attraction techniques – how to reach and engage candidates in various global markets
    • Be a business partner that requires a high-level understanding of department objectives and how we accomplish them through people…understand how the pieces work together and collaborate on effective job positioning
    • Use data for effective storytelling and to identify process bottlenecks and where to find efficiency gains
    • Full-cycle recruiting for select roles – source, screen, interview coordination, offers, etc.
    • In partnership with the SVP of People & Culture, develop talent acquisition strategies
    • Continuously track requisitions, explore areas of concern, report progress, and proactively work to open future roles given metrics and lessons learned
    • Monitor current staffing needs and produce hiring plans
    • Partner with the comp and HR analytics specialist to align compensation expectations
    • Work closely with Finance to ensure alignment between reqs and budget
    • Be part of the broader Global HR team to understand and help drive employer branding initiatives
    • Develop a recruitment advertising strategy – identify a list of in-country resources, how to best leverage LinkedIn, working closely with internal social media specialists, traditional job posting, etc.
    • Create, augment, and evangelize candidate referral program
    • Continue to develop our Candidate Community program
    • Drive process to advance the overall talent acquisition objectives of the organization – create effective workflows (req and offer approvals), candidate communication, develop initial system screening questions, establish and evolve general candidate evaluation process, be a participant in the development of tech-specific exercises and tests, and how to leverage other tools that adds value to a thorough and meaningful process for hiring teams and candidates
    • Be a teacher – be a key player, in partnership with our Learning & Development team, in the development and delivery of recruitment training for the team and the organization as a whole
    • Continuous networking
    • Vendor management – agencies and system vendors
    • Understand how to best leverage our Applicant Tracking System
    • Monitor key performance indicators for the TA function while holding self and others accountable to hiring goals

What you’ve done:

    • 10 years experience successfully driving the recruiting process across a wide variety of technical and non-technical roles while meeting weekly and monthly hiring goals
    • Demonstrated professional progression with at least 5 years managing other recruiting professionals, with multiple direct reports
    • Developing or evolving an in-depth recruiting strategy at a global level
    • Experience with global recruiting efforts – maneuvering time zones and cultural differences
    • A strong background and knowledge of all full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing talent, legal, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management, due diligence and negotiation
    • Experience acting as a champion for culture and community within a growing technology company
    • Working in a distributed workforce environment
    • A high-degree of technical aptitude – from ATS system administration to working in the tech industry
