We’re looking for an experienced Workers Compensation (WC) Coordinator for our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) team based out of the Mississauga Head Office location. This role reports into the Sr. HSE Manager for Canada and will contribute to PepsiCo Beverages Canada’s (PBC) commitment to helping our business partners in the management of workplace injuries. The Workers Compensation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the WC program, policies and execution for all PBC locations across Canada. Partnering with a third party case management services provider, the WC manager will execute the program to ensure compliance, consistency and results as set out by PepsiCo and WCB legislation. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required so to assist the Sr. HSE Manager in executing the broader HSE plan. This role is a one year contract role.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
Support the execution of necessary policies, procedures, work instructions and forms for management of claims
Support the incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.
Assist in the on-boarding of frontline supervisor in building HSE capabilities so to continuously improve the management of injury cases,
Assist and support Sr. EHS manager with delivering against all EHS priorities and key administrative activities
Maintains current knowledge of applicable legislation and management system standards
Supports the Worker’s Compensation (WC) and Return to Work (RTW) process
Support scheduled meetings and conference calls (includes open claims call and meetings with our external partners)
Prepare and handle confidential information (FAF, medical notes etc..)
Demonstrate care and compassion while building successful relationships, developing effective recovery and return to work plans.
Accurately record, explain, and defend detailed and complex information orally and in writing
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; preferably in health and safety, environmental, engineering or business
3-5 years of HSE work experience in a manufacturing environment
Food and Beverage manufacturing and warehousing experience is a definite asset
Ability to function well in a team environment, display professional maturity, and interact with all levels of management
Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
Strong communication skills and strong collaboration skills
Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn various in-house software applications.
Attention to detail, team oriented, have the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and possess the ability to communicate across teams.
Ability to flex your schedule based upon the business unit’s obligations
Aptitude to work with minimal supervision, set goals, create, and implement action plans and monitor progress towards goals
