people2people have an exciting opportunity with a State Government Department for an experienced assistant accountant to join their team. This position is for 2-3 days per week with both onsite and work from home capacity. This is a VPS3 position commencing 22nd November, ending 31st March 2022.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Account reconciliations
  • Providing a range of financial and accounting services including payroll, taxation, cash management, debtor and creditor management.
  • Assist statutory financial reporting and returns

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • A sound understanding of the accounting principles and standards as applied in the government sector
  • Experience using Oracle and MYOB Exo Business
  • Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve
