We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join a high-growth luxury retail brand within their Melbourne headquarters in the CBD. You will be exposed to various areas of finance activities and perform hands-on accounting operations, whilst providing excellent support to the Accountant in areas of financial information, procedures, and control.

The Company

Everyday across their combined network of 50 boutiques in the Asia Pacific region, they are poised to further your appreciation of their luxury product. Due to a high-growth period, our client offers the successful candidate a clear path for internal career progression and support through studies.

Position description

• Involve with all tasks relating to accounting duties
• Check reports for completeness in supporting documentation – invoices, card dockets, daily settlement printouts and appropriate approvals from managers
• Reconciliation of collection reports and rectify posting errors
• Check telegraphic transfers and direct deposits from bank statements daily
• Perform cost accounting in M3 accounting system daily and check and resolve any posting errors
• Responsible for petty cash claims from boutiques and head office
• Process banking for cheques from suppliers or third parties
• Raise tax invoices/debit / credit notes, eg A&P billings/reimbursements, rent etc.
• Monitor and pursue overdue payments
• Ability to assist the boutiques with processing purchase orders, stock receiving and invoicing as and when required
• Filing and other financial admin tasks as required

Profile

We are seeking candidates with excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in progressing their finance career within the organisation:

• Accounting qualification
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
• Ideally from a retail background
