The Role

The Admin Manager will be responsible for managing the admin team and be able to lead, train, and mentor them (sometimes from afar) to ensure that all processes are completed effectively and within a timely manner; therefore, people management experience is expected.

Some of the tasks you will either be responsible to complete or manage others who do, include:

• Leading and mentoring a small administration team responsible for various finance, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
• Oversight of bookkeeping processes including general ledgers, payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions
• Ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial and statutory requirements including payroll, superannuation, payroll tax, and BAS etc
• Provision of cash flow forecasts, budgets, job costings, profit and loss, balance sheets and other financial statements at specified intervals
• Management of banking and finance requirements (including reconciliations and analysis)
• Implementation and management of KPIs
• Costing and job profitability analysis for transport and logistics operations
• Liaising with external accountants
• Provide advice and recommendations to the GM, Directors and other senior management
• Provide general (or by a specialist advisor as required) legal, insurance or governance advice when required
• Maintenance of asset register
• Preparation of financial content for tenders and proposals
• Provide backup and continuity of key functions when key staff are absent

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL NEED

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Degree qualified in Commerce or Accounting (with post-graduate experience; ideally CA/CPA qualified)
• Strong computer skills including the ability to operate computerised accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs, and advanced level Excel skills
• Minimum of intermediate MYOB skills
• The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines while maintaining data integrity and attention to detail
• Highly developed analytical, planning and execution skills
• Problem-solving and change management skills
• Experience mentoring, coaching and leading a small administration team possessing diverse levels of expertise
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
