Job Title: Accounting Clerk
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Controller
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: The key role of an employee who works as an Accounting Clerk is to ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
➢ Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
➢ Perform general office tasks like organizing and delivering documents, updating, and filing records, and communicating with clients with focus on financial duties.
➢ Need to be able to multi-task and determine priorities to complete tasks as accurately and efficiently as possible.
➢ Assists Controller, AR Specialists and AP Specialist in completing specific projects during the month and specifically at month-end
➢ All other duties as assigned
REQUREMENTS:
➢ Education and/or Experience – high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
➢ Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software; internet software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.
➢ Experience in international logistics and/or marine terminals preferred not required

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
This work is performed in a moderately noisy office environment.
