Senior Rail Engineer – Manchester

My client, a major multidisciplinary Consultancy specialising in Civil, Structural and Water Engineering is looking for a Senior Rail Engineer to join their brilliant Infrastructure’s Rail and Public Transport team in Manchester! My client houses a broad range of specialists offering a great diversity of skills throughout both the public and private sectors and specialise in infrastructure and buildings, they have a passion for keeping the country moving so communities can prosper. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a renowned team on a wide range of regional and UK projects!

Responsibilities:

• You will manage commissions including engineering feasibility and outline the design of rail projects.
• You will support business cases, which involves coordinating input from engineering and environmental disciplines, throughout the development process while making multi-disciplinary reports.
• You will meet the requirements of the brief, quality standards, health and safety and environmental standards to both national and corporate standards.
• You will be required to act as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) in the Rail Civils Design.
• You will prepare the technical reports and documentation relating to projects while helping to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications.
• You will prepare technical guidance to junior members of the team.,

Requirements:

• A degree in a relevant subject.
• Chartered Membership.
• Some post-graduate experience a relevant profession.
• Good knowledge of the Network Rail Grip process.
• Familiarity of lineside civils works, rock cutting stabilisations, UTX/URX design and designers risk assessments.
