We might have just the thing for you. We’re looking for a Learning & Development Coordinator to join our team. This is a great role to begin your career in L&D, and we’ll support you to grow and develop your skills with us.
A small but busy team, Learning and Development partner with teams across Penguin Random House to create training and development programmes to help our people to grow and meet their potential. This includes running courses and workshops, mentoring and coaching programmes, and supporting employees to study towards professional qualifications. We also manage the company’s work experience programme and run events to promote careers in publishing. As coordinator, you’ll play a key role in organising our training courses and being the first point of contact for queries.
You can look forward to a fast-moving and varied day, which will likely include a mix of the following activities:
Workshop scheduling, including managing our training calendar, liaising with external and internal training partners, and managing course registration and attendance.
Managing training logistics for online and in-person workshops across our different office locations, including room bookings and setting up catering and materials.
Acting as first point of contact for queries, referring, or escalating as needed.
Preparing and maintaining systems, documents & records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GDPR.
Working with our team to create a welcoming, accessible and inclusive learning experience, whether through training programmes, events or materials.
Creatively designing and maintaining internal communications related to development – updating intranet pages, materials and the training calendar on a regular basis.
And with lots of projects on the go there’s plenty of opportunity to flex your creative muscles and make a difference, whilst keeping everything ticking over.
What we’re looking for
Some co-ordination/administrative experience, demonstrable organisational skills
Proactivity
Willingness to learn, get stuck in and help out
Ability to work at pace, balancing multiple tasks and timelines, whilst paying attention to the detail
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be right at the heart of making things happen, helping to create the best learning experiences for our employees. You’ll get to see the scope and breadth of the Learning and Development function, and the critical role it plays in our company. This is a role that will set you up for success as you further your career in L&D, HR, or wherever your plans take you.
If you’d like to apply, please submit your CV and Cover Letter by Sunday 14th August.
As part of your cover letter, we’d like you to tell us about a time when you’ve demonstrated your ability to manage multiple priorities.
We’re currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we’re not taking a one-size-fits-all approach. While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.
For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person mainly at our offices in Pimlico. The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process. All interviews will be held virtually.
What you can expect from us:
Salary: You‘ll start on £24,000. Expect a £1,000 increase on your first anniversary in this role and a further £1,000 on your second to reflect your growing contribution.
Our employees are the heart of our business. We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our employees, some of which are:
Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we want our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated.
As a Disability Confident Committed organisation, we’re part of the offer an interview scheme. This is where disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the role can opt in to get to the next recruitment stage. There may be some situations where volume of applicants means we can’t take all eligible candidates to interview.
We want to make sure disabled applicants can be their best at each step of the recruitment journey. If you need adjustments during the application process, we encourage you to get in touch with us at http://[email protected].
Remember, you only need to share what you are comfortable to for us to support your adjustment request. Find out more about our approach here: www.penguinrandomhousecareers.co.uk/applying-for-roles-with-a-disability
We partner with The Book Trade Charity, who provide financial assistance for people looking to get into the publishing industry; you can find more information and talk directly here: http://booktradeentrysupport.org/
