We have a new opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our Audio Finance team on a permanent basis here at Penguin Random House UK.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, as Finance Analyst you will play an integral role in providing financial and commercial support to our Audio division, assisting with the collection, preparation and presentation of financial and management information.
This information supports and informs decision making within the team and contributes to the maintenance and development of relevant reporting and information systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Monthly management accounts – assisting in the preparation of P&L, balance sheets and the preparation and posting of journals
Reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, including regular analysis of performance and summarising of data for review
Budget and forecasting preparation including processing revised sales assumptions, involvement in all lines of the P&L excluding salaries, preparation of budget & forecast KPI packs
Acquisition P&L’s and calculation of bonus advances
Effective control of Audio’s finances and clear ad hoc analysis on department/author or title performance to support decision making
Working with internal and external partners (including non-finance colleagues) to convey financial information clearly
Analysing, evaluating and commenting on relevant financial data
The successful candidate will have excellent numeracy skills and will be committed to adding value to the business and the wider Finance team. The ability to analyse, evaluate and interpret commercial and financial data is essential, and any past experience of using financial accounting systems is beneficial. Ideally you will have experience in a junior finance or accounting role and will be working towards a professional qualification.
You’ll be a fast learner of new IT systems and processes and will be able to build strong working relationships easily and effectively. Your time management, prioritisation skills and attention to detail will be key here.

Salary: £26,000 – £34,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
