What a day in role of an Lead Educator at Pelican Preschool will look like;

• Leading a room with confidence, providing support to other Educators in the room
• Providing nurturing care for children
• Facilitate the learning experiences for your allocated group of children
• Be part of a collaborative teaching environment
• Observing children’s engagement and learning – Assessing the needs of each child and monitoring their progress
• Maintain effective communication with the parents throughout the service
• Evaluate & monitor the effectiveness of programs
• Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment
• Maintain positive working relationships with all team members
• Assist children with personal hygiene routines.

The successful applicant will,

• ECT, Diploma qualification in accordance with ACECQA,
• Current Working with Children Check
• ACECQA approved First Aid Qualification that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis
• Current understanding of National Quality Framework, Early Childhood Education and Care Laws and Regulations and the new Assessment and Rating Process.
• Ensuring a focused approach to embed exceeding practices as per National Quality Standards.
• Building connections within the community and create a positive reputation in early childhood education and customer service.
• High level of written correspondence and comprehension including high level of documentation skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of the planning cycle, observation techniques and making essential links to children’s learning outcomes.
• A commitment to best practice.
• Demonstrated initiative and decision making abilities
• Ability to time-manage and meet deadlines.
