EV Battery Systems Engineer

Peec Automotive is a start-up based out of the UAE and we have a game changing technology that is providing a real solution to the climate change problem the world is facing. Our product is focused on helping accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles globally, especially to the masses, and we do this by repurposing existing internal combustion engine vehicles to electric.

An EV Battery Systems Engineer is required to join the Electrical Electronics and
Energy Storage team whose scope is to define the EV battery architecture, Cell selection, Battery pack development, Development of BMS software,
Component and Vehicle level Validation.

The EV Battery Systems Engineer will lead the EV battery system development.
Forming part of the core technical team this role will work across product development and R&D projects involving electric vehicles and will be responsible for design, development and delivery of appropriate battery systems architecture and battery packs to suit programme size and timescale.

Required:

• Provide technical leadership as required in the technical delivery of engineering projects ensuring technical deliverables are met
• Review latest state of the art / industry standards with a view on future landscape of electrification to guide the product direction
• Interpret customer requirements to drive System Level requirements and develop the System Architecture
• Responsible for design of Battery packs and appropriate heating / cooling systems
• Responsible for concept to proof of concept of battery swapping technology
• You will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and validating appropriate battery system architecture for different applications.
• You will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and validating appropriate battery charger solutions based on project requirements.
• Derive and validate the battery system component level requirements
• Identify a range of cell manufacturers globally and aid in building commerical agreements

Qualifications:

• Degree qualified whilst being able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge or an acknowledged industry expert in high voltage battery system for electric vehicle applications
• An understanding of EV Battery chemistry and packaging
• An understanding of EV Battery mechanical and electrical design
• In-depth understanding of Battery thermal performance and degradation characteristics across chemistries and geometry
• Experience in systems engineering and functional safety
• CAD experience preferably Solidworks
