We are experiencing continuous growth and have an immediate opening for the Logistics Coordinator position (Working remotely). The position will be reporting to the Manager, International Logistics & Customer Service. Key Responsibilities and Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
1. Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders will meet the required cargo ready dates
2. Ensure bookings are made with the correct carriers to meet the correct sailings
3. Ensure all customs documentation is correct and compliant with current customs regulations
4. Issue CCI, other customs documentation where necessary
5. Track all live shipments to ensure arrival is on schedule
6. Process requisition payments to carriers to ensure no detention or demurrage charges are incurred
7. Report all inbound shipments to Peak’s distribution facilities
8. Compliance with all national and international customs regulations
9. Report all shipments to Peak’s insurance underwriter to ensure on-going insurance coverage for all shipments
10. Obtain and analyze spot quotations for ad hoc shipments as required from time to time
11. Dispatch LTL, FCL, LCL, truckload, intermodal and air shipments
12. Update various workbooks, ERP systems to ensure visibility of all inventory on order or in transit
13. Provide logistics information to various internal departments as required
14. Work closely with the procurement department to build efficient shipping plans to be followed by Peak’s suppliers
15. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisors
Experience, Traits and Qualifications
1. Outstanding customer service skills, preferably in a busy, time-sensitive, high volume environment
2. 2 – 4 years’ experience in international logistics with a focus on ocean container import processes in Canada and the U.S.
3. Working knowledge of airfreight protocols
4. Sound working knowledge of customs regulations in Canada and the U.S.
5. HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification knowledge is an asset
6. Demonstrate promptness, professionalism and courtesy at all times by keeping promises
