Educators Rising, a division of PDK International, is currently in the process of updating and redesigning our lesson topics in our curriculum. The Educators Rising Curriculum emphasizes fundamental teaching practices that are critical for high school students to develop as they take their first steps on the path to becoming accomplished professionals. Lesson topics are based on the Educators Rising Standards and are organized into five domains: 1) You, 2) Your Students, 3) Your Classroom, 4) Your Community, 5) Your Profession.
As we continue to update and expand our curriculum, we are looking for specialists in these areas:
Lesson writing for secondary students
Assessment writing
Professional learning materials for future and current educators
PRIMARY DUTIES
Duties may include any combination of the following:
Write lesson modules with original content to support a rigorous, engaging learning path that includes content presentation, opportunity for practice and reflection, and assessment of learning.
Create test items to gauge learning at the end of a lesson topic, unit, and course in accordance with provided item specifications.
Develop training materials to support teachers implementing the curriculum as well as adapt lessons for adults exploring the education field or expanding their skill sets.
Subject matter experts are needed in the following areas: Anti-Bias Instruction, Cultural Competency, High Leverage Teaching Practices, Classroom Culture & Management, Assessment, Lesson Planning, Inclusive Learning, Special Education, and multi-lingual education.
We are looking for those who have availability to work on various projects between October and March 2023.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree minimum with a strong preference toward graduate level experience and education.
Prior classroom teaching experience, including facilitating discussion and differentiating instruction to fit a variety of student needs; preference towards those with teaching experience at the middle and high school level.
Expertise in curriculum development
Comfortable using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
Those with experience teaching the Educators Rising Curriculum is a plus.
